Editor's Column.

I seem to have fallen into the entirely unadventurous habit of making my editor's column at least partially about the issue's theme.

Just because I notice the trend doesn't mean I'll stop.

...

The theme this time is baby pictures. Why? I get a kick out of looking at people's baby pictures. It's not because I like children. I actually dislike children. I'm terrified of children. I heard a quote once--and I can't remember, for the life of me, who said it--about how one should never trust a person who doesn't like children or dogs. If that's the case, don't trust me. I can't stand dogs either. But anyway. I like to look at people's baby pictures not because I like to look at pictures of kids, but because a baby picture gives a certain context to a person. It shows origin. It shows a past life of sorts. I like to see where people came from.

Purr. Um. Right, so BITEmagazine publishes poetry now, too. That's what's new. We're expanding. And contracting. We're very intestinal. Mush. We are a magazine of peristalsis.

Hey, here's a little fact for you: this magazine was SO close to being called "Bite.Digest" instead. It was ruled out for being too cute. But look how it's come back to, uh, bite me. I could have made sense when I was talking about intestines. I really could have. Oh well.

That's enough. I can still be reached at bite.magazine (at) gmail dot com. Thanks for reading.
